Westel
Utilities Limited was established in 2000 as a contractor in the utilities,
light civil engineering and construction sector. Our company has carried out major projects as
diverse as LUAS light rail construction and water infrastructure upgrade but specialises
in the installation of telecoms networks.
The team at Westel has over 25 years’ experience installing and
maintaining telecoms networks, both in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We were involved in the construction of the T50 ring, a 45km arterial
multi-duct fibre ring around Dublin. In addition, we have carried
out network maintenance for other telecoms providers, such as Eir, Aurora
Telecom and Complete Telecoms.
In
the Republic of Ireland, Westel’s management was involved in the construction
of the Cable & Wireless network as well as the government funded
installation of Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) nationally. We have also constructed network for Data Centre
providers.
